Transition into an International Association
The TecTask, presently an IUGS commission, is transitioning into the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR STRUCTURAL GEOLOGY AND TECTONICS (IASGT). All the activities of TecTask such as Outcropedia, Terminology, Education and Training, and the events will continue as before, but will come under the IASGT. For a formal communication, the headquarters of the IASGT during the transition will be “The Geological Society of India Regional Center Kharagpur”. TecTask has nominated the below Executive Board of IASGT to oversee the transition:

Bursaries by TecTask to attend SGI SIMP in Torino
TecTask will award five grants to cover the registration fees for SGI-SIMP in Torino (Italy), 19th-21st September 2022 for MSc and PhD students, postdocs, and early career researchers who participate and present their research in the structural geology and tectonics sessions of the conference.

In memoriam: Prof. John Ramsay (1934-2021)
Prof. em. John Graham Ramsay, the pioneer in Structural Geology, passed peacefully away in Zurich Switzerland on January 12th 2021, only a few months short of his 90th birthday. Read his obituary here.
