“A Public database of all important and beautiful outcrops in the World.”

Disclaimer

Visiting outcrops can be dangerous. Outcropedia and its curator and organisers publish the locations of interesting outcrops, but do not encourage any reader to visit these sites, since we do not have any information about accessibility or possible safety risks.

If readers do visit sites at their own risk, we suggest the use of helmets, suitable clothing and shoes, and, along roads, reflective and brightly coloured warning vests. TecTask, the officers and members of TecTask, the authors of contributions to the Outcropedia, and Outcropedia personnel are in no way responsible for any accidents that may happen when visiting one of the indicated outcrops.

Outcropedia and its curator do not take responsibility for the content of material displayed on its pages. We cannot guarantee the correctness of locations and text, nor of the correct location of photographs.

Outcropedia is not responsible for any breach of copyright by persons uploading to the site, nor for improper use of material displayed on the site.

By publishing material in the Outcropedia, you release Outcropedia, its affiliates and assigns from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of or relating to the participant's submission.

User rules

Material uploaded to Outcropedia should comply to the following rules:

Outcrop locations, text and photograph uploads should not violate the copyright of any person, institution or company. Ideally, copyright of text and photographs should be owned by the person uploading the material. If this is not the case, permission should be obtained to publish material on Outcropedia pages before uploading.

Material uploaded to Outcropedia should be of suitable geological nature, containing photographs of rock outcrops or drawings of such outcrops, coordinates describing their location, and text describing the features visible in the outcrops. Material uploaded should not include any kind of advertisement, trademark infringement, invasion of privacy or any illegal or unethical content.

Suitability of material for publication in Outcropedia is determined by the curator of the site, and no reclamation is possible. Unsuitable material, discovered by Outcropedia workers or through complaints, will be removed.

It is not allowed to publish in any form, in whole or in part, text, locations and photographs from Outcropedia sites without permission of the owners of the material. If no information on ownership of material is given on the site, you can contact the Outcropedia curator who will establish contact with the owner of the material.

If you see any illegal or unsuitable content on these websites, please report it immediately to the Curator. Material will be controlled and removed if necessary.

By publishing material in the Outcropedia, you release Outcropedia, its affiliates and assigns from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of or relating to the participant's submission.
